Pecos Mine Operable Unit - Tererro Mine Site Reclamation
This reclamation project required us to build on-site water diversion to eliminate surface and subsurface water from leaching through the old dump sites. We provided labor, equipment, and materials to accomplish the engineer's design, which was strictly monitored by the New Mexico Environment Department. All phases of construction had to be in compliance with both State and Forest Service environmental requirements. This project was viewed as successful by the owners and the State Environmental Department.
Reclamation Project-Bluewater, New Mexico
This reclamation project encompassed over 600 acres of reclaimed area for the uranium tailings dam. The uranium tailings dams were capped with engineered soils and graded for proper drainage. Stone coverings were placed over the graded fill to stop any erosion. Through partnering with the owners and still staying in compliance with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the original scope of work was completed at a substantial savings of approximately $1,000,000.00.
